The Lord's Royal Pillow Was Soaked In Oil And Placed At The Top Of The Stairs By A Prisoner - Wednesday Shuffle

Lords Of Karma - Joe Satriani.  Hey man, Karma isn't governed by any type of lord.  It just exists to create balance, man.  Your western ideals are corrupting something beautiful.  Things don't exist to be ruled, man.  You might think you're a master of the axe, man, but the guitar is just allowing your good karma to flow through.  Bad karma will happen when you're busted at the airport with puppy fur and meth, man.

Pillow - King's X.  I'd like to make a joke about Dug being a…

Day Is The Gateway To A Full Night - Tuesday Shuffle

Tristan Und Isolde - Isolde's Liebestod - Wagner.  Germans composers that frequently feature the oboe are among the scariest Germans.  Other scary Germans:  German movie directors that love oboe music, German engineers that love oboe music, Germans with little mustaches, and German Germans.

I Drove All Night - Cyndi Lauper.  A top ten song of all time.  Love it with a passion.  I don't toss around my passions all willy-nilly either.  Cyndi has the most soulful voice ever.  She…

It's Hard To Believe That Never Ending Peace Is A Possibility - Monday Shuffle

Neverender - Coheed & Cambria.  The less polished stuff can be good for an occasional listen.  C&C's talent grew on every subsequent release and I'd much rather listen to those albums.  Having this as a comparison makes me appreciate them more and want to hear what they are capable of.  There are flashes of brilliance on this track but the amateurishness makes it... amateurish.

Can't Catch The Train - Soulsavers.  This is a church hymn.  I want to hold a book and…

The Country Lady Hurt Her Arm - Thursday Shuffle

Lady Of Avenue A - The Black Crowes.  Just remembered that I saw The Black Crowes play Valdosta, GA in the early 90's.  They called Valdosta "The Armpit Of Georgia".  It's more taintish than pit like.  Waycross or Albany are infinitely less appealing.  This song has a wiff of stink itself.

This Is Gonna Hurt - Sixx A.M.  Industrial posing.  Do it right next time, Nikki.

Country Boy - Johnny Cash.  Impaling a wiggly worm and frying fish sounds like a good time.…

Hearing The White Messiah Talk Will Fill Your Soul Full Of Grace - Wednesday

Kept My Soul - The Black Crowes.  For a straight up blues album, I'm digging the hell out of Before The Frost.  There is a Southern swing that trumps my usual disdain for the blues.  Hell, I'm liking it more than most Allman Brothers and Skynyrd songs.  Maybe living in the south is changing my very essence.  I hope not.  It's likely just a temporary shift in musical tastes.

Grace - U2.  Not a huge fan of recent U2 but this isn't terrible.  Actually, I'm kinda glad this album…

Look Where The Letter Lives, In The Street - Tuesday Shuffle

Front Street - The Gutter Twins.  Powder Burns lingers on this track.  A few cliches and not a lot of musical theatrics.  Lanagan does creep up the track though, makes it interesting.  Too much time spent building up to the intense ending.   Cut the length to 3 minutes and it'd be great.

Live Forever - Sixx A.M.  Okay, the first Sixx A.M. disc was fantastic but this second one is just... so-so. The singer sounds like every other contemporary rock singer.  The few bits of a…

Kate Is A Loser, She Missed The Sea Bound Dreamliner And The Train - Monday Shuffle

Dreamline - Rush.  Space fantasy and something about a desert aren't generally song worthy topics.  This is Rush so they get a pass.  It's not a classic but I'm always fairly happy when it comes up.

Heads I Win, Tails You Lose - Ratt.  Another non-classic from a classic band.  This isn't great but I'm not enraged listening to it.  It's just flat.

Georgia On A Fast Train - Billy Joe Shaver.  Really good old timey outlaw country.  On par with Merle Haggard but…

The Englishman Conspired With Ahab To Win Gold By Fixing A Fisticuffs Bout - Wednesday Shuffle

Checking my Google Music uploads and it seems like a decent portion of my library has found its way to the cloud.  Even though its missing more than a few songs it's peppered with enough to make an interesting shuffle.  Here we go.

Silver And Gold - Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros.  It's a bland, go nowhere kind of song that annoying hipsters love.  This quasi folk stuff will be the end of popular music.

Fisticuffs - Primus.  Alright!  Saw on Facebook today…

The Beautiful Moon Is For Exiled Heroes - Tuesday Shuffle

Mississippi Moon - King's X.  A Mississippi moon is overrated.  It looks exactly like an Arkansas moon.  Another tune on Ear Candy that sounds too much like a cut rate Beatles song.

Sleeping Beauty - A Perfect Circle.  No complaints, brah.  Well, maybe one complaint.  It's not 3 Libras.

My Hero - Foo Fighters.  Second best song on The Colour And The Shape.  So excited to see them at Music Midtown next month!  Probably equally excited to see Pearl Jam too.  It's…

When Hunting, Remember, No Cheese Should Be Black - Monday Shuffle

Black Is The Color Of My True Love's Hair - The Twilight Singers.  I've had this cover on the ol' shuffle machine since it came out but I've never bothered to see who was the original singer.  Oh, I guess it was some Appalachian folk tune that was covered by Nina Simone.  Good enough.  Not gonna seek it out.  I like this version.

American Cheese (Jerry's Pianto) - King's X.  They're trying too hard to be the Beatles.  Ear Candy is decent enough but this song needs a serious…

Death Can Be Had By Cavalry, In A Lovely Pit, Or Celestial Intervention - Thursday Shuffle

The Celestials - Smashing Pumpkins.  I miss Deadwood for the fun and informative dialog...  The new Smashing Pumpkins album is surprisingly excellent.  Check it out.

The Pit - Silversun Pickups.  Very New Order sounding.  I dig it.  This band is full of goodness.

My Lovely Man - Red Hot Chili Peppers.  Second or third best song on Blood Sugar Sex Magic.  Great, great song.

Cavalries - Mutemath.  The song of theirs that showed up the other day was…

You Don't Fight After An Accident - Wednesday Suffle

Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone) - Cinderella.  Ain't that the truth, Cinderella.  This is the ballad supreme, kid.

This Day We Fight! - Megadeth.  Most of the time I'd consider a song title with an exclamation point to be stupid but if there was a song that deserved a warning in punctuation, it's this un'.  Easily among the fastest, angriest Megadeth songs.

There's Been An Accident - The Twilight Singers.  Meh.  Dulli sings "control" like Cajun Man…

My Enemy's Eye Will End The Day Peering Into Nothingness - Tuesday Shuffle

Nothingness - Living Colour.  Too much new age feel goodery, not enough rock.  Thems beats be all kinds of funky though.  Too bad said beats are drowned out by cricket noises and a really annoying synthesizer.  Experimentation gone awry.

Eye Of The Beholder - Metallica.  This song doesn't get enough respect in the realm of respected Metallica classics.  It's the least thrashy song on a real thrasher of an album but is likable nonetheless.  I will say that this song suffers…

The Dumb Letter Was Completely Uncovered, Allowing Mr. Big To Read It - Thursday Shuffle

Complete Control - The Clash.  Good stuff, Maynard.  I think I like Strummer's solo stuff better though.

Open Letter (To A Landlord) - Living Colour.  I really don't want to get into politics what with the Chick-Fil-A controversy but some neighborhoods are beyond shitty and need to be leveled.  Also, why didn't the Living Colour guys try to save the burning children?  It's implied that they just watched passively as they died.  If you put aside the lefty propaganda, this song…
