The Transition Away From Voodoo Was Not Atlanta's Best Day - Sunday Shuffle

Atlanta - Stone Temple Pilots.  Pretty sure that I talked about my disdain for this song before but I'm actually kind of enjoying it right now.  It's capturing a mood.  Even the whistling at the end didn't send me into a blind rage.

Transitions - Beastie Boys.  Again, a song I generally dislike seems to be hitting the spot.  Jazzy instrumental Beasties are my least favorite Beasties but this is hitting the spot.  There is a soulful undercurrent here, a Curtis Mayfield vibe.  It's good.

Reckoning Day - Megadeth.  Second best track on Youthanasia.  There is that building urgency that I like in metal.  Even thought he's far from an urgency building master, Dave can do it well from time to time.  That's not a slight on Dave though.  Megadeth is the #2 of the Big 4.  Wait, that didn't come out right.  They're the second best of the Big 4.  Slayer is number 7 or 8.

Voodoo - Godsmack.  Nice!  Just got this CD last week and this is the first track from that disc to show up on the shuffle.  Sully is one talented little person.  He did some acoustic thing a year or so ago that was pretty good.  This song sounds a little dated now but remains enjoyable.

Baby Why Not - Dwight Yoakum.  Nice Bakersfield sound.  It might as well be Buck Owens singing this one.  Wear your influences on your sleeve Dwight.  Nobody is going to judge.  The weird "why not" yodeling thing is even decent.
