My Conversational Skills Are Easily Superior, Test Me - Monday Shuffle

The Conversation - The Twilight Singers.  For the most part, Powder Burns gets on my nerves.  Lots of cliched catch phrases from a seemingly uninspired lyricist.  However, two songs on that album have damn near captured mastery.  Bonnie Brae and The Conversation do it right.  There's not much musical going on here but the lyrics and tone are superbly sinister.  The "Three Can Keep A Secret" lyric is up there as one of the most evil/eerie ever and a real punch to the gut.  This is poetry for deviants.  Like plus.

Mother Superior - Coheed And Cambria.  I got all giddy today when I saw a message on their Facebook page that implied a new album will be released tomorrow.  I can't find shit about it elsewhere on the internet.  Gonna check iTunes in the morning I suppose.  This song could be an LA Guns classic, maybe Whitesnake.  Slow burning and fairly simple.  Anyway, it sounds a lot like a aggressive hair metal ballad.  The drum fills are spot on. More likery.

Test For Echo - Rush.  I knew this song on the first note.  Guess I like it a lot.  It's groovy but has a few near metal breaks.  All around good stuff.  A little past the halfway mark it gets super proggy.  It might be all over the place but it all fits, kinda like my junk.

All My Life - Foo Fighters.  Another first note recognition.  Yeah, I dig this song but nearly every song on One By One is better.  That shit fires on all cylinders, hoss.  I'm talking 350 bored over 365 with headers, a blower and glass packs, son.  (I hope that's correct, I am going to hang out with a gang of rednecks later this week and I want my jargon to be spot on)  Anyway, Foo Fighters are way more than shitty pop rock.  They can be aggressive like a mug and progressive like a... slug?

Easy Come, Easy Go - Winger.  Okay, this song is the reason metal heads dislike Winger.  For the most part, they rock hard.  This song, however, is a straight up annoying pop song.  Fuck Winger for releasing this turd.  The horns are infuriating.
