A Heavy Abacus - The Joy Formidable. I haven't spent nearly as much time listening to this band as I should. They're easily my favorite new band of the last couple of years. The girl's voice is fantastic and they rock hard.
Justice In Murder - Coheed & Cambria. They're the contemporary bastard son of Iron Maiden and Rush. Definitely one of my all time favorites now that they've been around for so long. Great showmen as well. I will absolutely see them again if they make another pass through my neck of the woods. Even at that, I still think the nerdy sci-fi aspect of the band is silly.
The End Of Everything - Chris Isaak. Damn you Chris Isaak. Makin' me all sentimental and what not. Makin' me want to take up drinking again too. I'm a stone Chris Isaak. You can't do this to me anymore. Don't call again Chris Isaak. We're through! (an occasional Shuffle appearance would be nice)
Gravity Rides Everything - Modest Mouse. Damn you Modest Mouse. Makin' me all sentimental and what not. Makin' me want to take up drinking again too. I'm a stone Modest Mouse. You can't do this to me anymore. Don't call again Modest Mouse. We're through! (an occasional Shuffle appearance would be nice)
Driving The Last Spike - Genesis. Friggin' immigrants, always building railroads and being productive members of society. It may be the best Phil Collins song based entirely on his use of the word "fuck"
