Hell Is A Big Rock Devoid of Light - Friday Shuffle

Earth On Hell - Anthrax.  Power thrash.  Damn.  Just kicked my dog and will be visiting neighbors to kick their dogs.  Really, no dogs were kicked.  Yet.  Don't think I can hype the new Anthrax album, Worship Music, any more than I have.  It is the best Anthrax record period.  The guys must have been taking metal 'roids.

Light Years - Pearl Jam.  Warble Eddie returns.  I do like this song but it will never be a song I would sing along to at a Pearl Jam concert.   Binaural is full of songs like that.  That and the one after are just average.  Glad they seem to have found the magic again on the last two.

New Year's Day - U2.  This was one of the first videos I remember seeing on MTV.  I liked it fine but it didn't have the general awesomeness of Ratt and Van Halen.  It might have been too complex for an 11 year old.  Now it sounds simple and dated.  Glad I was old enough to appreciate Joshua Tree when it came out.  That shit was on point, partna.

The Big Picture - King's X.  Okay, I don't like this song.  It's manufactured to be the King's X power ballad that would break them into the mainstream.  Even at that, there are some artsy, progressive touches that were meant to play to the average fan.  The end result is something neither group would love.

I Wanna Rock - Twisted Sister.  Another early MTV song!  This shit is all around fun.  Glad I've been able to see them a couple of times since they've reformed.
