It's a Spotify radio night.  Tonight's selection is The Cult Radio.

Born Into This - The Cult.  This album fell a little flat after the greatness of Beyond Good And Evil.  This song is the hot shit though.  Think I saw that they are due for another release in a few months.  I will be purchasing it on the release day.  The coda here is nifty too.

Rock N' Roll Fantasy - Bad Company.  Hmmm.  I would never associate Bad Company with The Cult.  This is one of those classic rock radio songs that plays all of the time but I have no idea who would intentionally listen to it.  I suppose rock fans a decade older than I am would go ape shit over it.  I think it sounds tired.  The disco bass is enraging.  Disco is not Rock N' Roll.  Bad Company are a bunch of assholes.

Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You) - A Flock Of Seagulls.  Okay, this one doesn't make sense either.  This is some new wave crap, not rock at all.  Guess The Cult fits in as they are British but that's the only connection I can see.  I might enjoy this song in another setting though.  It just confounds me here.  Befuddlement leads to rage more often than I care to admit.  I'd karate chop Spotify in the vagina if they were here right now.   Hiyaaa!

Rotten Apple - Alice In Chains.  The closest match so far.  Still not 100% what I was expecting but I'll take it.  That whole Jar Of Flies album was fantastic.  It's not, however the rocker I wanted.  Rotten Apple is great when I'm feeling less jovial and more sinister.  Let's rock Spotify!!!  (Make that cliche free rock please)

Twice As Hard - The Black Crowes.  This is pretty damn close.  I'm satisfied with this choice Spotify.  Straight up rock done with passion.  Good job.  I will say that this has been a very interesting experiment.  Gonna hit the skip button a few more times to see what an algorithm thinks an average Cult fan would like.
