City Cowboys Are Such Deceitful Ones - Monday Shuffle

Midnight Cowboy - Faith No More.  Exactly what it says.  This is the them to Midnight Cowboy with a few rock n' roll embellishments.  It's great zone out music but has little value beyond that.  I'm on the prowl for some action tonight.

No Such Thing - John Mayer.  How the hell did this dude get the reputation of being a guitar genius?  This is just bland pop.  I'm skipping this, it's making me angry.

Paradise City - Guns N' Roses.  Here's some of that rock n…

I'll Remove The Crazy If You Give Me Something To Hold On To - Monday Shuffle

Giving Spotify Radio a shot tonight.  This is the Tesla channel.

I'll Be There - LA Guns.  Wow, I have no recollection of this song but it is greasy, sleazy and rockin'.  It makes me think of a totally stripped down Guns song with shitty production.  I actually like it.  The album is called Shrinking Violet.  Gonna listen to it all later.

Lazy Days, Crazy Nights - Tesla.  Tesla can't miss.  This is great stuff.

Love Removal Machine - Great White.…

Enough, Eating Sweet Spanish Chicken Is Gonna Make Her Leave - Sunday Shuffle

Had Enough - Tesla.  Niceness!  I recently picked up Psychotic Supper and this is the first time I've heard this song since the cassette I had broke in my car in 1992.  Tesla is one of my go to bands.  Never been disappointed by any of their releases.  The can be surprisingly metal too.  There is plenty of blues influence here but the balls out metal negates all of that.

Half Steering, Half Eating Ice Cream - Neptunes.  This one came up on the shuffle too recently.  Gonna skip…

Cowboys Still Favor Disease Free, Living Beef. Tuesday Shuffle

More Magic-

Alive - Pearl Jam.  I saw this video on Headbanger's Ball late one Saturday night in 1991.  I went to the record store the next day to buy the album.  They didn't have Ten in stock.  Not because of demand mind you, it was because nobody gave a damn yet.  Yessir, I am a Pearl Jam pioneer.  Ten is magic top to bottom.  Anyone that says Nirvana released a better album in 1991 is a goddamn liar.

A Favor House Atlantic - Coheed & Cambria.  This was…

Monday Shuffle - Magic Albums

I've set up a playlist of 15 albums that I consider "magic" and will be running the shuffle from that today.  By "magic" I mean an album that made me a lifelong fan of that band upon the first listen and albums that I will listen to in full at least once a month.  There are my favorite songs from my favorite bands.

Body Talk - Ratt.  Out of the Cellar was my first Ratt album but Dancin' Undercover made me a maniac.  It was probably this song that did it too.  It's metal.  The…

Sunday Shuffle 12/11

The Threshingfloor - Wovenhand.  I stumbled across this band on Spotify and actually picked up this CD used on Amazon.  There is a definite Moroccan flavor to this song.  Usually that world music shit just pisses me off but this is actually more than tolerable.  In fact I'd recommend this band to just about anyone that likes music.  They may get heavy with the Jesus sentiment too so there's that.

Rise Up & Fight - Crippled Black Phoenix.  Another band I found on…

Ingesting Alien Blood At Midnight Will End Your Linear Concept Of Surroundings - Thursday Shuffle

End Tapes - The Joy Formidable.  So a band that I really like is on the Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn soundtrack.  It's more than a little enraging.  The Joy Formidable isn't for love sick teenagers.  It's for middle aged music nerds that couldn't care less about Twilight.  I guess this song is a little more accessible than most of their stuff and they do need an audience.  It should have been a different venue to introduce this band to the public though.

Young Blood - Naked…

Poems Of Living, Singing, Love, Wounds, And Revenge - Wednesday Shuffle

I Just Wanna Live - Good Charlotte.  Gonna mix things up today and use Google Music instead of iTunes for the Shuffle.  There are going to be a lot of songs I have never heard or even care for showing up.  That includes this song.  I have actually seen Good Charlotte in concert but couldn't tell you a single song of their.  This seems like it might be a cover.  Looking it up.  Nope, it's their original.  Good enough I suppose.

Undersea Poem - Menlna que Corre.  Ugh,…

They Crossed The Line By Moving Like Ricky - Tuesday Shuffle.

They Came In - Butthole Surfers.  I'd really like a new BS album.  There are very of their songs that I don't really like.  The album this is on, Weird Revolution, is every bit as good as Electriclarryland.  There is a possibility that it's even better because of songs like this.  It's heavy on the electronic experimentation but remains a good hard rock song.  Check it out.  ++++

The Thin Line - Queensryche.  I was a bit let down by Empire but thought this song was a real…

American Hurricanes Can Be Nightmarish Monsters. Monday Shuffle.

Monster Skank - Infectious Grooves.  This on holds up pretty well.  It's riffy metal with great funky bass work.  There isn't that over the top silliness that ruins a lot of their work on Monster Skank.  Damn.  Trujio is a beast.  That guy is all over the place with his style but is pretty much a master at all of them.

American Idiot - Green Day.  Meh.  They didn't deserve the critical nut swinging they got when this came out.  It's just okay.  Their first release is much…

Mind Blowing Authority - Sunday Shuffle

Authority Song - Jimmy Eat World.  This sounds like a warmed over 50's rock track.  Weezer and Pearl Jam have done it better.  It's weird that better bands that I like infinitely more, Sevendust for example, rarely get any of my music cash or regular spins but I almost always run out to buy a new Jimmy Eat World CD.  Jimmy pisses me of with regularity but I really like SOME of their songs.  Guess it's my optimistic nature.

It Blows My Mind - The Neptunes.  Snoop Dogg takes…

In The Ashes Of Revolution, A Baby Wishes For Cleansing Rain - Thursday Shuffle

I Wish It Would Rain Down - Phil Collins.    There is only one Phil Collins song that I don't like and that is a cover.  If I was Japanese I would call this song is super fantastic happy good.  If I was Mexican I would say Mi Gusto.  If I were gay I would lust after Phil.  Luckily I am none of those things so I am just going to grow a skullet in tribute to the man and his wonderful works.  This is one of his best songs by the way.

Do Me, Baby - Prince.  Nice, straight up…
