My Heart Dreams Of Love And Trees And Stuff Like That - Tuesday Shuffle

The Trees - Rush.  The only hate-able Rush song.  Hippy crap.  J.R.R. Tolkien fantasy is useless in song.

Love - The Twilight Singers.  The first Twilight album is still one of my all time favorites.  This song is second or third best on As Played By.

What Was That - Dinosaur Jr.  Great track from I Bet On Sky.  Seems like something they would have done early on in their career.

Lifting Shadows Off A Dream - Dream Theater.  It was Mike Portnoy's…

The Cobra's Dead Eyes Turn To Welcome Him Everyday - Monday Shuffle

Turn On The Water - The Afghan Whigs.  Finally seeing these guys play live last week was a joyous experience.  This song isn't my favorite but I don't have any big complaints about it.

Everyday I Write The Book - Elvis Costello.  There are some strange choices with the production.  Stereo is a tool, not a toy.  Aside from that, this song is very good.

Cobra - Miles Davis.  Aww shit.  I have to seek smooth jazz, smooth jazz shouldn't just show up and expect me to…

The Hymn Buoyed The Apache To Freedom - Tuesday Shuffle

Buoy - The Joy Formidable.  This woman plays guitar like a man!!!!  She still sings like a woman, a delicate little flower. She'd be perfect if she wasn't British.  I love this song, it's straight up progressive rock.

Hymn 2 - Anthrax.  Okay, I didn't realize this was an actual track on the album.  Thought it was a mid song drum break.  Shitsies.

A Hymn For A Lost Soul - Crippled Black Phoenix.  Booooooooooo.  The shuffle is wasting my goddamn time…

Escape The Star's Gravity By Walking, Running, Or Wearing A Poncho - Monday Shuffle

Pearl Of The Stars - Coheed & Cambria.  Odd ballad that works.  A "pearl of the stars" is a terrible thing to call someone.  Right?  Really having trouble figuring that one out.

Gravitate - Rocco DeLuca and The Burden.  I saw this dude on a late night talk show years ago, bought the disc the next day and haven't given him a second thought since.

Run - King's X.  Standard King's X song.  I like it but it's not a barn burner.

Walk On By -…

Escape Cash Woes And Little Annoyances By Dancing In Your Sleep - Thursday Shuffle

Falling Asleep - Death Angel.  Act III is no Relentless Retribution.

Cash Over Ass - Ice Cube.  Ice Cube can be an idiot.

26 Is Dancier Than 4 - This Town Needs Guns.  Big thumbs up.

Little Things - Baroness.  Two big, swollen thumbs up.  Really great band.

Escape - Metallica.  Yay!!!!!

Time Is Up Elk, My Unkind Crossbow Will Make You Into A Nothing - Wednesday Shuffle

Elk - This Town Needs Guns.  Impulse purchase that worked out.  An elk is my favorite hoofed beast as well.  Things are coming up roses and lollipops.

Cross Dresser - Van Hunt.  Van Hunt dominates that Frank Ocean by, like, a thousand times.  Van Hunt would eat Frank Ocean's eyes if they met in an MMA cage filled with violently aggressive, cannibalistic, black alt-rock singers.

Time's Up - Living Colour.  Living Colour would own that same MMA cage.  They'd…

Toronto Can Be Soul Crushing Or Like A Magical Rainbow - Tuesday Shuffle

Magical Mystery Tour - Cheap Trick.  Boo.  Few things get on my nerves more than a Beatles cover.

A Hymn For A Lost Soul - Crippled Black Phoenix.  Oh, here's another thing that gets on my nerves.  I don't like church music.  Don't put church music on your progressive rock album and pass it off as edgy.  Also, do not piss on my leg and tell me it's raining.  That wouldn't be cool, man.

Head Crusher - Megadeth.  I bought a Head Crusher themed long sleeved…

I'm Writing About A Hooligan With Big Lips That Willed His Fortune To A Horse - Monday Shuffle

Apollo I: The Writing Writer - Coheed & Cambria.  This all fine and dandy but I would have preferred a track from the new album.  That album is the domination.  Ah, I momentarily forgot that this was the domination as well.  Gonna spend the day tomorrow with the heaviest prog playlist every compiled.  It's going to include Coheed, Baroness, Gojira, Queensryche, Mastodon, King's X, Rush, and Iron Maiden.  Maiden is among the proggiest of prog bands in case you were…

Heroes Never Sing Of Violence And Give Mindful Advice - Wednesday Shuffle

The Right Side Of My Mind - Queensryche.  One of the more tolerable late model Queensryche songs.  Still self important and douchey though.

Honky Tonk Heroes (Like Me) - Honky Tonk Heroes.  Nothing special about it.  I kinda expect more out of a super group like this.

Ooh Song - King's X.  The self titled album gets a bad rap but this song is all around superb.

Violence Fetish - Disturbed.  Ugh.  I was completely enraged when the lead singer of…

You Know I'm Patient So You Shout It Up Every Morning. - Tuesday Shuffle

Patience - Guns N' Roses.  Jimmy Kimmel Live is promoting Axl's upcoming appearance on the show as his first televised interview in twenty years.  Jimmy Kimmel Live is a collective of goddamned liars.  That Metal Show had Axl on a year ago.  It wasn't that entertaining, but still.  This song is overrated.

Pump It Up - Elvis Costello.  Car companies have completely co-opted 70's alternative rock for their commercials.  I want to buy a Toyota now.

Shout Me Out -…

Who Will Sacrifice Their Life To Rust In The Undertow? - Monday Shuffle

(Flesh & Blood) Sacrifice - Poison.  I got disturbingly happy when this popped up.  Giddy is an appropriate word for what I'm feeling.  Great good timing song.  I may go see them next summer.  If Bret has another "episode" that makes him unable to speak or scat or thank the troops but somehow retains the ability to sing I WILL be there.

Who Will Lead Us? - The Gutter Twins.  The Gutter Twins have become an afterthought since the Afghan Whigs got back together.  Definitely…
